These are simply some of my favorite stories, in no particular order, although I'll separate them by fandoms at least.  They run across a variety of fandoms, a variety of types of stories, and every rating from G to NC-17.  I like slash, and you'll find a good bit of it here.  Contrary to rumor, though, I read all sorts of things, so there's also het and gen fic -- some of it even marked as such.

This will be updated every so often as I find/remember more stories I love and try to share them.  Please, feel free to send me recommendations!

The Next Hero, by Hth -- A crossover I would have never imagined.  I almost wish there weren't implied slash in it, but oh, the concept is breathtaking and the job of working characters in is dead on.  Buffy: the Vampire Slayer/Harry Potter (and yes, you DID read that right) 

Rapture, by Wombat -- How in hell did I miss this one?  <giggling>  If only for the one Southpark line (You'll know it.  I knew it and I've never watched Southpark....) you have to read this.  X-Files/Highlander

Substitutions, by Josan -- Um.  I don't have words for this one.  Other than to say that I kept it in my inbox for days, read it twice the first day, again the next, and ended up writing a very long LoC on it.  Not a pairing I'd have expected, not a crossover I'd have thought I'd like, and it's wonderful.  X-Files/Sentinel

When Hellmouths Collide, by Kimberley Rector and Martha Wilson -- <mad giggles> Oh, man, I thought everyone who rec'd this to me had lost their minds.  I really, really did.  They hadn't.  It's great.  Fun, and serious, and silly by turns.  Buffy: the Vampire Slayer/Hercules: the Legendary Journeys.  (Yes, it really works.  Wild, huh?!)

A Shot of Reason and A Code of Silence, by Alice in Stonyland -- Ignore the fact that I helped beta these; that was my good luck.  My rec'ing them, however, is y'all's good luck.  One of the best cohesions of the two universes that I've had the pleasure of reading, and one of my favorite OCs anywhere. due South/Highlander: the Raven

Arms of Love and  I Send a Message, by Zen & nancy -- Right.  Not even plausible, not to me.  Just too damn weird.  But damn, I forget that every time I read these, right up to (and for a while past) the point where I finish 'em.  And I still want more sequels, too.  So why should I deny y'all the same pleasure?  (Why, yes, I do eat Pringles, and no, I can't eat just one.  Why do you ask?)  Highlander/X-Files Added 11-7-00

Everything Dies I and II, by Sleeps With Coyotes -- For everyone who wondered how Kronos found Methos, and where, exactly, Kronos got that virus...and what it really did.  Or, the ultimate 'behind the scenes of Comes A Horseman and Revelations 6:8' story.  Highlander/X-Files crossover.  (There are, by the way, missing scenes for that, and the third part is up at her page as a WIP.  It will probably never be finished, but read it if you like.)

Fires on the Hill, by Sleeps With Coyotes -- this is an AU for her Everything Dies series, and a response to a 'Virgin!Alex' challenge, and I just like the thing, okay? Added 6-19-01

Grass and Petals, by Misha -- Well, it's Bagheera's fault, as so many good things are.  Spring and flowers and dangerous, dark-haired men.  X-Files/Highlander. Added 6-19-01

Mermaids Singing, by Lyrica -- Characterization, revelations, plot, pacing, hot sex, and good poetry.  Of course I'm going to recommend it.  <g>  Originally appeared in the zine Wounded Heroes.  Sentinel/X-Files

Shadows Fade, by Kellie Matthews and AuKestrel -- 'Tales of the City' and Hard Core Logo, with occasional due South appearances.  I have no idea who these folks are, because I've never seen Tales or HCL, and I loved this piece.  Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.  Added 1-10-01

Something Wicked, by torch -- Krycek and Methos.  What more could I ask for?  Highlander/X-Files

Somewhere Over the Rainbow:  Red, by Josan -- Harsh Realm/X-Files, and superb.  Gritty and vicious and real.  Enjoy. Added 6-19-01

Thank You for Not Smoking, by Hth --  I'm not a Scully fan.  I don't even watch the Pretender.  But I get this.  Man, do I get this.  And if you're not sure if you'd like it, but you like Once A Thief?  Try it.  Trust me.  X-Files/Pretender

The Look, and Look Again, by Bone -- Oh, man, hotter than hell, perfect characterization, and... excuse me while I drool my way over to reread these.  Sentinel/Highlander (Note:  yes, there are two more in the series, one by Bone, one by Melina.  The two I read and reread, however, are the ones I recommended.)

Up in the Valley, Down in the Mountain, by Amand-r -- I have no words for this.  Just...read it.  Not at all what you might expect, other than superb.  Highlander/Narnia crossover.  (Yes, you read that right.  Now go read the story.  Trust me.)

Warm Thoughts, by Sleeps With Coyotes -- Um, drunk, disorderly, and having more fun than anyone else in Joe's bar.  With Beetle's lyrics, too.  What more did you want?  Highlander/X-Files

Natural Blues, by Sheila -- Oz, cigarettes, and time.  They shouldn't be this frightening in that conjunction....

The -plex Series, by Spyke Raven -- <shudder>  Unnerving, in all the best ways.  Set in the 'wish' universe, and just... terrifying.  I didn't think I liked Riley, either....

Splinter, by Rheanna and Yahtzee -- What might have happened on the way home from the Host's world....   I'm getting really, really fond of Fred, too.

Vivere, by Rheanna -- Wild, wild, wonderfully done AU.  Don't miss this.  (Actually, this is Angel fic, not Buffy, but I never really pay attention to that distinction, sorry.)

Lux Viviens, by Hth:  Gonzo Sunset, Moonlight & Van Helsing, and Buzzed-- Well, for one thing, don't ask me if I'm just going to rec everything she writes, because the answer is no.  <g>  And the odd thing is, I've read her rants and freqently, I don't agree.  But the fic, oh, man, the fic.  Anyway.  This is, brace yourself, Giles/Oz slash.  And she makes me buy it.  And keep buying it.  Amazing.  Just... trust me.  Try the first one.  (You'll have to scroll down the index page to get them, but it's worth it.)  Added 6-19-01.

Sands of Time series, by James Walkswithwind & Wolfling -- Xander/Spike pre-slash and slash.  Sure, tell me another one.  Hell, Xander living with Giles because his family sucks dead rats through a straw, and not particularly well?  Okay, now that I believe, actually....  No, these series work in and through the eps, mostly, and deal with abuse and love and do a helluva fine job.  Added 11-7-00

Wesley, Rogue Demon, by James Walkswithwind.  You know?  I can't give a synopsis of this without completely spoiling it.  So I won't.  Trust me, and Ali, and Te, and everyone else on God's green earth who's recommended this:  read it.  Added 6-19-01.

Chicago's Most Wanted, by Speranza -- <snicker.  snort.  guffaw 'til I can't breathe>  Nuns.  RayK.  Reporters and concerned citizens picketing the 27th precinct.  Fraser in a black leather jacket.  Guns.  Semi-organized crime.  Dante's Inferno, in, I might add, the original Italian.  Tuna casserole.  <snort of laughter, wheezing breath>  Oh, Gods, the tuna casserole....  The hell with it, why are you still here, go READ THIS!!!  Do not drink or eat while reading; you'll regret it!!

Rabbit jumps out the window, by Basingstroke --  Fraser and Maggie, and those late at night, heart to heart talks where you don't quite slide around the issue because the other person would let you if you wanted to....

Better than Ice Cream, by Hth -- Um.  Words don't do it justice.  And it makes a hell of a lot more sense if you saw the episode "Juliet is Bleeding".  But... everything you needed to know about growing up female, and Italian, and Catholic.  And just growing up.  Enjoy. (Scroll down to get to it.)

Scrabble, by Speranza -- Okay, look, I know, I know, the damn link takes you to her fic page and you have to go find the story yourself....  There's a reason I did it this way.  Depending on which browser you're on, it makes a difference which version you read.  Look, take the lady's word for it, and read this.  Sweet Lord.  It's interesting.  And it helped me kick ass at Scrabble last weekend, too....  (And while you're at it?  And since you're already there?  Check out The Killer Replacements.  Trust me.)  Added 6-19-01

Bound by His Brother's Heart, by Pythia -- I'm a pagan.  I love myth.  I love fantasy.  This just hit every little button I had and made me sigh and purr.

The Chronicles of Chronos, by Pythia -- I don't usually like to do this.  I'm making an exception.  Read this series.  All of em: A Hero's Price, A Hero's Prize; A Night of Ghosts and Shadows; and Hot Water. 

At the Root of the World Tree, by tarshaan -- Oh, man.  Sequel to Syni Molniya, although it makes sense by itself, and it's... appalling to watch.  This damn thing makes me hurt for the new immortal every time I read it.  So.  Want a really different POV on the Game?  Read this.

Bodypaint, Bartabs, and Beer, by Andie P -- I don't believe I never rec'd this... Damn fine fic.  I wish we knew where Andie was and if she's still writing.

Degrees of Separation, by Kai -- Dark, haunting, and perfect.  Enjoy.

Biting Dust, by Nynaeve -- Connor and Methos, and immortality and what it does to you and how to survive it.  This is a first story?  Lord and Lady, I should have done so well with mine!

Brought To Heel, by JiM and Piper -- Probably my favorite of all the Harlequin, Shmarlequin stories.  It's AU, and first time, and well, I'm a sucker for Frank Yerby books.

Duet, by Killashandra, first of the Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark series -- Sharp and sweet by turns, a pleasure to read and one of my all-time favorites of hers... which is saying a lot.

The Duke's Reward, by the lady of shallott -- An AU I loved, written late for the Swords at Sunset contest.  Added 1-10-01

Fair and Bright, by Sleeps With Coyotes -- A pairing I would never have expected and yet I was hurting for Methos by the end of it.  Odd, dreamy, and all sharp-edged emotion.

Fertility Rites, by Kai -- Um.  Bagheera's Spring Challenge, sure, but... dancing along the edge of sex and religion, I suppose.  That old time religion, at that.  Added 6-19-01

The First to Leave, by Carin LaMontagne -- a sequel/companion to Immortal Beloved, and another look at relationships between immortals and mortals. Added 11-7-00

Games & Conversations, by Alice in Stonyland -- Watchers, poker, and policy.  Gen fic.  Maybe the best thing Ali has written, IMO, which is saying a very great deal.

The Good Student, by Sylvia Volk -- Yup, I'm recommending gen.  I write it occasionally, too, what did you expect?  Read it for the fencing with ice cream if nothing else, but read it for the looks at teachers and students, and why the idea of the Game may be the ultimate in cruelty... or the ultimate excuse for the wicked.  Added 6-19-01

Hammer and Anvil, by MacNair -- I didn't like Endgame.  At all.  (Well, okay, maybe one or two of the flashbacks, and there were Methos/Joe parts, but overall, bleah.)  This, however, is fascinating, and rough, and oddly...believeable, given the nature of the Game.  Try it. Hope Chest, by Elynross -- Melancholy and pleasure mix in this one.  For everyone who likes to clean the house or desk before starting on something new.

i, pet, by Kim Gaspar -- Another of the 'everyone recs this, but....' stories.  Right:  one of the few warnings I'll put up.  This is BDSM, folks, emphasis on all four letters.  It is also the best job I have ever seen done of showing why either side would want to do it, and how to handle it so as to keep everyone intact... and why sometimes, some people need this.  Damn fine writing.

Immortal Beloved, by Carin LaMontagne -- Gen fic, Poetry Wheel fic, and oh, I loved this one.  One of my favorite immortals, Matthew McCormick, and one of my favorite questions:  How do mortals and immortals coexist in relationships?  Lovely, lovely piece.  The sequel, The First to Leave is in here, too.  Added 11-7-00

In Darkness, Truth, by chelle -- Oh, man.  This is...lyrical and healing and so bloody accurate it made my gut hurt, sometimes.  The rest of the time I just smiled.

Kaffee & Conversation, by Arsenic -- I read this when she first posted it to the Lyric Wheel and it just blew me away.  She took a character I don't usually like and made me like this story because she let me watch an immortal mature and change.

Leaning With the Turns, by Aristide -- <g>  On 'adventurous' vs. 'reckless'.  The kiss alone....  Bring a fan.  Bring ice cubes.  Duncan/Methos first time.  Go read it.  Added 1-10-01

Lost, by Sleeps With Coyotes -- A canonical AU (yes, I'm serious, and no that's not a contradiction here), with major angst warnings.  All I can say is, trust the lady, she knows what she's doing.

Mourning Morning, by MacNair -- <weg> A HL: Endgame spoiler piece that I liked.  A lot.  <g>  It's not what you think.  Enjoy.  (Trust me.  Would I abuse y'all?  Of course not.) (Scroll down to the story.)

No, Nay, Never, by Sleeps With Coyotes -- Bad puns, mistletoe, Irish bands, wonderful Joe (never enough good Joe stories, IMO) -- I was happy.  You will be too.

No Stone Unturned, by MacNair -- Wow!  Connor, and Duncan, and Methos, and students and teachers and relationships....  Wow.  Read this.  Oh, trust me, and read this. Added 1-10-01

Nose Prints on Glass, by rac -- Methos, MacLeod, and commitments.  Rated Q for quirky, added 1-10-01

Not A Chance In Hell, by Canadian Girl -- <weg>  I love this story, for so many reasons it's frightening.  Horton gets his just desserts....  Genfic, by the way.

Not in the Winter, by Arachne -- I'd say that this is about friendship, and devided loyalties, and survival and different priorities, and it is.  But it's more than all that, so read it and enjoy for yourself.

Perserverance, by Diane DeShaun -- best known for her gloriously fun Whim Boys series, this is still possibly my favorite of Di's stuff.  But don't expect it to be fun and games, because it isn't.

The Price You Pay, by Milkshake Butterfly -- Oddly enough, I'm told this is my fault.  <g>  Mind you, I put out the Watcher stories challenge two years ago.  Oh, well.  Milkshake Butterfly blames me for all sorts of things, and I'll take the rap happily.  This is a very different take on the Watchers, the Watcher vows, and interference, non-interference and morals.  I hope you enjoy.  Added 6-19-01

Proof, by Kai -- Um.  Well.  Er.  Be careful what you ask for?  There is such a thing as 'more than a Watcher needs to know'?  This is the place to learn the truth of those two statements, that's for sure. Added 9-25-00

Renewal, by tarshaan -- I made a chance comment on ROG and tarsh wrote this.  I alternate between being glad she did and jealous that I didn't come up with something this subtle and lovely!

The Runners-Up, by Sinanju -- I'm not sure I can explain this one without spoiling it.  All I can say is, this may be the most minor character I've ever recognized at the end of a fic.  <g>  Do enjoy. Added 6-19-01

Save the Last Dance For Me, by Dayspring -- Because I enjoyed it.  Snarky and fun, and lovely interplay, and a reminder to consult your shieldmen before committing them to battles....  Added 6-19-01

The Seduction of the Desert Prince, by the Krell -- we don't know much about the Krell...other than the fact that we've been gleefully devouring this AU for ages now.  Thanks, ladies!

September Song, by Kat Allison -- Kat's stories always haunt me, but this one in particular makes me think still, months after I first read it.

Stall Wars:  The Implier Strikes Back, by Sleeps with Coyotes, illustrated by X -- <lolol>  Oh, man, go read this, it's hilarious!!! Added 11-7-00

Still-Heart, by Sleeps With Coyotes -- If you haven't read all her stuff, why on earth not?  (g)  What are quickenings, and what can you do with them, and are the gods real, and if they are, what else is?  Oh, and a D/M first time that makes you smile and purr and laugh....

Strata, by Kat Allison -- Age, and depth, and the importance of perspective.  Look, folks, it's a Kat Allison story, what more could you ask?

Synecdoche for Piano and G-String, by Elynross -- About differences in communication and behavior, and the distance between desires and their obtainability.  I think I wrote my first LoC because of this story.

Syni Molniya, by tarshaan -- We've all had the days where we tried to do something, and found out the hard way that someone, somewhere, had forgotten to tell us everything, or the instructions were just plain wrong.  Usually, that gets you a stereo stand with the rough edges showing or a shelf where you need an extra support to keep it level.  Annoying, but not really a big deal.  But what happens when the missing pieces include the rules for the Game?  Added 6-19-01 (The sequel is now up, At the Root of the World Tree)

Tant Que Je Vive, by Mandragora -- What are you willing to do for love?  And what are you willing to do for survival?  And what will you do when you think they conflict?

Though Lovers Be Lost, by Margaret Turner -- Man, I loved this!  Kronos resurrection fic for Coyote's page, but lord, this thing gave me the chills with a very different portrayal of the relationship between Methos and Kronos, and for that matter, between Methos and Duncan.  I can't recommend it highly enough!  Wow!  Added 1-10-01

Three Jacks, Queen High, by Tenaya -- <lol>  Oh, this was good.  The real story in that last half-hour of " 'Til Death."  Trust me, ladies, gentlemen:  go read it.  Added 6-19-01.

The Truth About the Horsemen, by tarshaan -- <bwaahahaha>  Skinning the dead horse and using the leather so no one else will beat the poor thing.  Vain hope, but writing the ad parodies for her was fun.... It lives up to the title is all I can say.  Added 11-7-00

The Emory Stories, by listen-r -- One of my favorite OFC's, and no, damn it, this is not a Mary Sue.  Plot?  Oh, yeah.  Good slash?  Oh, yeah.  Mary Sue?  I ain't seen one. The only link I can currently find is for Seventh Dimension; scroll down to "Listen-r".

White Rabbit, by Dargelos -- Sweet Jesus.  I don't believe this. Rock and roll, and the '60s and everything that damn well just might have happened.  Long, long fic, people, and worth it. Added 6-19-01.

The Skunk Tales, by Pat -- This goes to the index for these.  They start out fun and just get better as they go.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!  Added 6-19-01

Sentinel's Rules for Dating the Guide, by Diana Williams -- Exactly what it says it is, and hilarious!!

Love Amidst the Ruins, by Kai -- Leave it to Kai to get me to read... well, anything, honestly.  I never even watched Brimstone, for example.  This though is a Sentinel AU that will just blow anyone away.  Trust me; would I lie to you?  Added 6-19-01

Prison, by Jack Reuben Darcy -- This one just blew me away when Rac handed it to me at Escapade a couple years ago.  An AU, in pre-World War II Singapore.  Right.  With characters from The Sentinel.  Riiight.  Sure.  Damn, but it works.  Since I noticed the pages don't jump to each other: part 2, part 3, and part 4.

The Reluctant Patient, by Bone -- Some writers just impress the hell out of me, with pretty much anything they want to write:  Sleeps with Coyotes and Bone are high on that list.  Humor, by the way.  <g>  Originally appeared in the 'zine Wounded Heroes.

Affirmations, by Viridian --  Oh, Gods, I had forgotten this fic, and I love it so much that I'm amazed I forgot it. <giggling>  This got me through the worst quarter of one year in a finance office....

Drinking with the Enemy, by Sleeps with Coyotes -- <giggling> Pretty much what it says.  Tequila shooters and heresy.

Strangers and the Strange Dead, by Kipler -- I'd been looking for this.  I'm so glad I found it again.  So -- what is it like, coming back from the dead?  This might tell you.  Gods know, Chris Carter didn't.  <grr>

A Rat Tale, by Deb Chan -- Oh, man!  Krycek/Mulder stuff, and a bedtime story and parody/satire that had me laughing out loud when I could breathe, and Kipling to boot.  What more could a gryphon ask for? (Deb's website is temporarily down; she's hoping to get a new server soon, but real life has to let up first. I'll update this link when possible.)

A River in a Dry Place and In the Shadow of the Rock, by JiM -- My favorites among her Houseboat variations.  Because sometimes it's not enough for the pain to end.  Sometimes you have to relearn what it is not to ache....

A Time for Lovers, by L. McKinnon -- This story makes me cry every time I read it, which is a rare accomplishment.  Bring your kleenex and get thee hence.

Better Homes and Gardens, by Blackbird -- relaxing, enjoyable, and gentle. A lovely, pleasant surprise of a story.  Added 1-10-01

Beyond the Barrier of Snow, by Josan -- AU.  No problem.  Non-con for large sections of it.  Um.  Well, I will say it fit the setting and plot.  Skinner/Krycek, sort of?  Damn.  Only for Josan.  And yet... it lingers, it does, and twists the mind back to the society and the culture, the behaviors and relationships....  And if it hurts at times, well, that's life.  Added 6-19-01

Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind, by Josan -- This is wild stuff, and I loved it.  Krycek/Skinner, and some intriguing theories on clones, the Consortium, and families.  Good stuff, enjoy it.  It has sequel stories, which can be found, with Josan's other stories here.  Added 1-10-01

Enemy, Friend, by Sleeps With Coyotes -- a missing scene from "Triangle", for everyone who wondered who was Krycek's alternate personna in this episode.

Evidence series, by quercus -- HOT DAMN!!!  They're here!  They're up!  Many thanks to whoever else helped talked quercus into posting them.  Whee!  Just read 'em, folks, and enjoy.  I'm off to reread them myself.  <sigh, purr> Added 1-8-01

Ghosts and Lovers, by torch -- Her Northwest passage series.  I think this may have been the first Mulder/Krycek slash that I both read and believed.  And yet, I'm not sure slash describes these at all.  Cases and characterization and changes, most of all, perhaps?  I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Helpless Dancer, by Dr. Ruthless -- Spinning effortlessly through and around the events of "Requiem", this Lyric Wheel piece just floored me.  A gorgeous Krycek POV on the events therein.  I loved this.  (<g>  She even forgave me the lyrics I sent.)  Added 9-25-00.  Corrected URL 1-10-01.

I Still Have Plans to Go to Mexico, by JiM and MJ -- Oh, man.  I am just such a sucker for people who can make you buy a trio.  <g>  Anyone having trouble believing that?  And this... modern poetry, and X-Files, and retired Feds, and retiring assassins....  This thing is, or should be, a classic.

Mercury Falling, by C. Slatton -- Wow.  And again, wow.  Early, profiler Mulder.  Lovely stuff.  Long, be thou warned, but plotted, researched and well-written.  Off to enjoy again.  Added 1-10-01

Missing Voices, by Joyce McKibben, Meredith, and MKA -- Gen fic, and post-episode fic, and it won enough awards to shake a stick at... for good reason.  The story made perfect sense to me and I wasn't even watching X-Files at the time.  First person POV, traded between three characters, as they deal with one time sequence and one overriding necessity. Try this one out, folks.  **Link corrected 1-8-01.  Sorry!**

Paradox Club, by Cody Nelson -- A classic.  Truly. <g>  I'm not always sure I buy this, but I never think that while I'm reading it.  BDSM, K/M, hotter'n'hell, and, just, wow.  For everyone who think Fox Mulder would investigate anything....  Added 11-7-00

Partners, by Sylvia -- This is the piece that made me learn to really, really appreciate AUs.  It just took me a little while to remember it, track it down, and post it here.  But this is not your normal Krycek/Mulder fic.  Sweet Mothers but that is an understatement.  Added 11-7-00  Author corrected 3-20-01 - my apologies, ladies!

Settling, Settling: Down, and Settling: In, by JiM -- Start with a fire and a kidnapping, add one former A.D. of the FBI, one assassin, and stir....  And you still won't get anything this incredible, unless you're JiM.  More of these to come, and soon, one hopes.

Solidarity, by Sleeps With Coyotes -- Mytharc continuations, and differing types of Oiliens, and aliens, and profiles, and shifting alliances, and all the Ratboy you could want.

The ASPCM, by Wombat -- A subject near and dear to my heart.  Because only you can prevent Mulder-torture....

The Story Spotter's Guide, by Wombat -- <giggle>  Oh, this is just too funny.  Try and imagine 'Audobon Society' classifying muse types.

Wakened by Silence, by JiM -- Hiking, and life, and Nature, and your heart.  Skinner/Mulder and JiM makes me like it.  Added 6-19-01

Return of the Princess Bride Jedi, by everyone -- Look.  Go read this.  Do NOT eat or drink anything while reading.  Giggles pretty much guaranteed.

Whodunit, by Sleeps with Coyotes -- <snerk>  Nevermind.  Just... go read it and see what answer you get....

1000 Oceans, by Amanda F -- Yeah, I know.  Me, rec'ing anime fic?  I don't even watch anime.  Well, honestly, I don't watch much of anything.  Oops?  This however was simply sensational.  Gundam Wing stuff.

And When He Falls, by torch -- Good Omens fic.  <g>  Look, any book about the Apocalypse... okay, any book by Pratchett....  Oh, the hells with it.  It will tell you everything you need to know if I explain that the Dramatis Personae at the start of Good Omens describes Crowley as 'a demon who did not so much fall as saunter vaguely downwards.'    (P.S. -- the book is by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett and I broke the spoine on my hardback by rereading it too many times.  Go buy one.  You won't regret it.)

Compare and Contrast, by Elaine MC -- I don't read TPM.  I still don't see any slash in the movie, and teacher/student slash is a fairly sure way to squick me.  So I don't quite believe that I'm rec'ing this, except... everyone wants to belong with someone, or be part of something, I think.  And this one is just so perfect for the days when you need to see those kinds of connections....

The Eightfold Fence, by Sue --  I don't believe I'm recommending Shogun fic.  Mind, I didn't think there was any out there, either.  But... if you can imagine more fic, slash even, written in Clavell's style, well, try this.  If you can't imagine it?  Try it anyway. Added 6-19-01
